FAQ’s – Frequently Ask Questions

How soon can I get an appointment?

You will be offered your first appointment that day or the next business day after contacting us in one of our clinics. Early treatment means a speedier recovery.

Will I have treatment during my first consultation?

Yes. Our focus is on reducing your pain or discomfort as soon as possible. We will however take a detailed case history also during your consultation.

How long does a treatment take?

Osteopathic Treatments last approx. 45 – 60 minutes.

Will I be given exercises / Advice?

When appropriate. We will always give advice on the management of conditions and appropriate exercises to do in between treatments to optimise the recovery process when safe to do so. Tailor made exercise sheets are also given for you to take home.

Do I need to be referred by a GP?

No GP referrals are necessary but please us a copy of any X-Ray, MRI’s results that you may have and also the names of medication that you are taken.
I have Private Medical Insurance – am I covered with you?
Of course. We are recognised by all the major insurance companies. Just check your own policy for its terms and conditions.

What about payment?

Payment must be made after each consultation. Receipts are given at the end of your treatment plan for tax or health insurance companies.

Do you know how many treatments I will need?

Whilst each patient is an individual, following your first appointment the Osteopath will discuss the anticipated number of treatments. You will be reassessed on each visit.

Can I have my appointment after work hours?

Yes. Our clinics have late evening appointments available, so you can have an appointment from 9.00am – 9.00pm (when available).

If I need a referral to a consultant do I have to visit my G.P. again?

No. The Clinic has access and work with some of the top consultants in Munster, so if you need to be referred to a consultant we can do it directly from our clinics with the appropriate letter.
